AWARD-WINNING TV COMPOSER DANNY PELFREY’S “FELICITY AND BEN’S THEME” BECOMES MOST REQUESTED SONG EVER ON FELICITY FAN WEBSITES, OVERNIGHT Press Contact: Ray Costa
“What is that piano song, and where can I get a copy?” – Felicity fan HOLLYWOOD, CA - TV Composer Danny Pelfrey’s “Felicity and Ben’s Theme,” known to most Felicity fans as “that piano song,” has quickly become the most requested song by viewers of the WB Series. The highly-sought instrumental piece, originally written for his wife Linda about twelve years ago, debuted on the series during the second season. Since the most recent use of the song in the final two episodes of the winter 2001 season, series watchers have been fanatically logging on to message boards in search of more information about the song. Kristi Dunn, Site Creator for felicitytunes.com, said “within minutes of an episode ending which featured Danny’s piano piece, email messages would start flooding in…the number of visitors to my site doubled and tripled on Wednesday nights and Thursdays after the song was featured in an episode.” Due to all of this recent attention and buzz, there’s now interest in including this track in the second Felicity soundtrack album. Emmy-nominated for his underscore to a previous Felicity episode entitled “Help for the Lovelorn” (the Twilight Zone influenced episode), Pelfrey is currently the composer for CBS’ That’s Life as well as ABC’s Spin City, for which he also wrote the main title. He won the 2001 Video Premiere Award in the category of “Best Song” for “Better Than I” from his score to Dreamwork’s “Joseph-King of Dreams,” and has created music for six Star Trek interactive Activision games, including “Game of the Year” nominee Star Trek Elite Force. Pelfrey has been part of the Emmy winning teams for Santa Barbara, Another World and Guiding Light. He has also worked on dramatic scores for several mini-series and acclaimed prime-time shows such as Friends, Providence, Survivor, and Once and Again. Pelfrey’s accomplished TV career has included solo performances on various television shows, such as The Wonder Years, Roseanne, Ellen, Arsenio Hall, David Letterman and The Tonight Show. He has recorded with many music legends including Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Carole King, David Crosby, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, and James Taylor. The long version of “Felicity and Ben’s Theme” is available on Pelfrey’s website, www.dannypelfrey.com under Piano and String Quartet (samples 11 and 14), along with numerous sound clips from the underscore of “Felicity.” DANNY PELFREY PHOTOS, INTERVIEWS, CDs AVAILABLE 8265 Sunset Blvd., Suite 101, LA, CA 90046 Tel: (323) 650-3588 Fax: (323) 654-5207 E: rcosta@costacomm.com www.costacomm.com |
